History
In an insurance agents’ meeting one day, the speaker stated everyone in there were all independent agents—not employees to any carrier. Each of those agents have their very own “storefront.” It’s just a matter of what you call it. After that meeting, Diane Guffey-Newell, owner of The Guffey Group, started working on building her business: the company name, the services they’d provide, and how they would conduct business. And that’s how The Guffey Group got its start.
Since then, The Guffey Group has given many individuals and families the security of knowing their future is in good hands. We know finding the right insurance agent is hard. You want someone you can trust and know they’re putting your best interests first. We’re here to help!

When I was 8-years old, I lost my dad to a heart attack. I remember some of the “speeches” he gave my siblings about work ethic. Important things regarding working hard, integrity, determination, and family. So much of him resides in me, so it was easy to name The Guffey Group in honor of my dad.
With close to 30 years experience in the financial/insurance industry, I have worked over ten years strictly in the insurance industry. Being a single mom of two little boys (now full-grown men), I decided to make the transition to insurance because it allowed me to be in control of our time and what matters most…family.
